About
Nillumbik PALS
“Nillumbik PALS” was founded in early 2016 as a group of well intentioned, not politically aligned landowners.
For decades, landowner issues had gone unheard or were deliberately ignored by Nillumbik Shire Council (“NSC”)
Many families’ stories of buying properties in the Shire only to be stymied in their plans of building a dream home seemed to have a common theme – being tied up in green tape and red tape at the hands of NSC planning and environmental officers determined to thwart those dreams.
Lives, relationships and family finances were left in ruins – not the role of local government to deliver those outcomes.
4 years later and now comprised of over 1500 Nillumbik residents, ratepayers and their families, PALS is committed to authenic representation of landowner views to NSC and the importance of being informed about current issues and events within the Shire. Landowners can now be confident that their voices will be appreciated and that their critical role in the health and prosperity of our superb Green Wedge is being recognised and understood.
